Studio Shablool brings raw earth into everyday life through contemporary lighting. Based in the Galilee, the studio explores the meeting of natural materials, handcraft and digital design.
At the heart of our work is rammed earth shaped in 3D-printed molds. An ancient technique meets a new way of making: precise forms, earthy colours and surfaces that retain the character of the material.
RAMMED EARTH · 3D-PRINTED MOLDS
Earth is the starting point of our work. We compact it by hand, layer by layer, inside a mold. Different clays bring their own natural colours; the layers and grain remain visible in the finished piece.
The innovation lies in the meeting of this ancient technique with digital design. We design the form, print a three-dimensional mold and use it to shape the rammed earth. The mold gives precision and freedom of form; the earth brings texture, variation and warmth.
From digital drawing to printed mold, from compacted earth to light: technology makes new shapes possible while the material and the hand give each piece its character.
RUSTED STEEL
Controlled rusting brings out warm, earthy shades and varied textures in the metal. Alongside rammed earth and copper, these surfaces create a conversation between materials, each with its own colour, touch and story.
ROOTED IN THE GALILEE
The Galilee is both home and inspiration. Its landscapes, colours and materials guide the studio’s work. Each light is an invitation to bring a little of that connection to the earth into the spaces we live in.
About Me
I founded Studio Shablool in the Galilee, Israel, from a desire to bring raw earth back into everyday life.
After graduating with honors from the Bezalel Interior Design Program and studying at the Earthship Biotecture Academy, I began exploring how ancient building traditions could meet contemporary design and technology.
Today, I create lighting and objects made from earth, glass, metal, and natural materials. My work combines traditional craftsmanship with digital tools, allowing me to transform one of the world's oldest materials into contemporary pieces for modern spaces.
As an Israeli studio, my work is deeply influenced by the landscapes, materials, and cultural heritage of this region.
